New Features

Improvements

  • Tanium Platform components now ship with libExpat v2.7.3.
  • Tanium Platform components now ship with Python v3.12.12.
  • Increases the Tanium Client sensor database cache size from 10MB to 20MB which reduces disk activity and increases battery life on battery-powered endpoints.
  • When downloading a file by its download ID the Tanium Client will verify its contents hash as well as its source URL when they are available.

Bug Fixes

  • Ensures that OSSL_DISPATCH markers are present on all SSL structures to mark where they end and avoid OpenSSL reading past their allowed length.
  • Prevents the Tanium Client CXSocket API from using known old root keys when newer ones exist. This will allow these communications to continue working when new roots are created on the controlling Tanium Servers.
  • Fixes a condition in the Tanium Client where its CDN and legacy downloads could stall for long periods of time when its CDN download requests are answered with "Not Avaliable" replies from the Tanium Servers.
  • Ensures that the Tanium Client removes old download ID mappings during upgrades as to avoid older-version information which can stall download requests.
  • The Tanium Client will now honor server-signed cached client settings on startup. This allows honoring those settings when the client clock is incorrect as long as their signature is still valid.
