- Prevented database backup if postgres service is not running
- Resolved issue that would prevent Appliance TSG from collecting the hardware report
- Since this release replaces the TanOS 1.3.0, 1.3.1, 1.3.2 and v1.3.3 releases, see the TanOS Version 1.3.0 Release Notes, TanOS Version 1.3.1 Release Notes, TanOS Version 1.3.2 Release Notesand TanOS Version 1.3.3 Release Notesfor further details on the major features of this release.
Known Issues and Workarounds
- There is a known issue with Partition Sync on TanOS versions less than 1.3.3. For this reason, we do not recommend performing Partition Sync on any instance that has been running for more than a few weeks, until AFTER upgrade to at least TanOS 1.3.3.
- There are issues with creating/deleting module mounts in TanOS that could corrupt fstab, resulting in the inability to login to TanOS. Do not create/delete module mounts in TanOS as any user other than the default 'tanadmin' user account. Contact your TAM immediately if you have created/deleted mounts as alternate TanOS users.
- There is an issue in the `Re-Apply ACLs` TanOS option that could modify permissions on remote filesystem files when mounts are enabled. Do not run this menu option if TanOS mounts are enabled.
- The TanOS 1.3.2+ builds implement appliance activation via the tanium.license file. This requires your TAM to provide a new license that includes the "Physical Appliance" or "Virtual Appliance" license type, and ensure the FQDNs in the license match the appliance FQDNs exactly, PRIOR to upgrade.
- This build resolves an issue where password expiration may not have been enforced on previous releases. Due to this, the first TanOS login post-upgrade may require password reset.
- When upgrading from 1.2.x to 1.3.4, libtinfo and uname package install errors can be safely ignored in the TanOS Upgrade log.
- Running TPAN within TanOS, causes errors when Customer Name includes spaces. Replace spaces with '_' to avoid errors.
Upgrade Recommendations
- Customers can upgrade from any TanOS v1.2.x, or v1.3.x to this release. This update effectively replaces TanOS v1.3.0, v1.3.1, v1.3.2 and v1.3.3. There is no need, and it is not recommended, to upgrade to TanOS v1.3.0, v1.3.1, v1.3.2 or v1.3.3 as part of the v1.2.x to v1.3.4 upgrade path. Please see http://docs.tanium.com for details on supported upgrade paths.
- For upgrades from TanOS 1.2.x, this upgrade WILL remove existing users from the iDrac interface! Please enable the tanremote user and change its password following upgrade to recover Virtual Console access. Upgrades from TanOS v1.3.x will not be affected.
- Perform a full backup prior to launching the TanOS Upgrade menu, in lieue of performing a Partition Sync if upgrading from TanOS version prior to v1.3.3. Respond 'No' when asked if you want to perform a Partition Sync before platform upgrade.
- This upgrade is much larger than previous upgrades, please give ample time to sync partitions and perform the upgrade.
