Thank you for choosing Tanium. This document is intended to document changes between releases of Tanium Connect.

Tanium Connect Version 4.4.0.0001

Enhancements

  • Performance improvements for connections which add/modify columns.
  • Reputation UI improvements to distinguish 'New' items from 'Pending' items and more descriptive/accurate labels.
  • Connection Run logs now contain log messages when a connection fails due to a service restart or when the process' memory use exceeds the configured 'maxOldSpaceSize'.
  • Connection Run logs now contain version and configuration information to assist in debugging any issues.
  • In addition to the 'Failed Connection Run', Connect now has events for 'Finished Connection Run', 'Duplicate Connection Run Blocked' and 'Unexpected Process Exit'.
  • UI improvements to show the connection id. Additionally, only show the 'next scheduled run' for enabled connections.

Resolved Issues

  • IOC Detect destination is now visible for customers with IOC Detect installed.
  • Connections using Reputation as a source were timing out. Improvements have increased performance of the reputation service, response times are dramatically improved.
  • Connections using Reputation as the source were submitting an improperly formatted timestamp which resulting in unexpected results. The timestamp format has been fixed. Connections now produce expected results.
  • Imported connections were failing to import columns from older versions of Connect. Connection import now saves columns properly.
  • A bug prevented editing of connections being imported. Imported connections can now be edited in the UI.
  • Reputation service was repetitively rescanning hashes with 'UNKNOWN' reputations. Hashes with 'UNKNOWN' reputations returned from a provider are now marked 'DONE', eliminating repetitive rescans.

Resolved Issues

  • Reputation service (running on the appliance) now able to successfully use the proxy settings. Reputation service running on Windows was not affected.

Known Issues and Workarounds

  • Authentication success and failure tracking is available with Tanium Server 6.6 or later at this time.
