Thank you for choosing Tanium. This document is intended to document changes between releases of Tanium Connect.

Enhancements

  • UI - adjustments to appearance to provide more consistent experience.
  • Reputation API - provides better validation for parameters in requests and returns more helpful error messages.
  • Reputation API - now allows users to query reputation for hashes from certain service provider (like VirusTotal or WildFire) only.
  • Reputation Source output - now includes the VirusTotal link in the `uri` property of reputations. Previously, the link was only included within in the report.
  • Connect - now allow configuration of timeout on reputation source
  • DB Connection Diagnostic - improved logging

Resolved Issues

  • Reputation Service engine - now displays proper malicious percentage
  • Reputation service disk space and database size monitors - only checks stats once per minute. A timeout has been added to system checks.
  • Delete Reputations through the API - no longer causes SequelizeUniqueConstraintError.
  • Reputations not containing reports have more helpful output messages.
  • SQL handshake metadata - no longer includes empty object in final count
  • Creating Connection - fixed edge case which allowed connections with invalid destinations to save.
  • Destination Issue - fixed issue where destination gets removed if you attempt to edit a connection and blank out the destination name.
  • Row count - fixed issue where rows were incorrectly generated/duplicated when there is only 1 client.
  • Connections - fix session issues which would cause connections to fail.
  • Connections - no longer continue to run if disabled via the bulk action.
  • Connections - now able to run when a Saved Question Name contains special characters
  • Importing Connections - now works properly in IE
  • ServiceNow Connector Behavior is now consistent with Connect 3, messages < 1000 chars are added to the body.
  • ElasticSearch - Questions with dots in the name can be to send to ElasticSearch. Dots are converted to underscores.
  • Wildfire request - continues to process remaining hashes even if Wildfire returns a 4xx for an individual hash.
  • Connect Permissions - Non-Administrative users are now able to post IOCD Results to Connect
  • Connect SQL Destination - Fields that can't be added to rows now produce warning messages instead of error messages. Custom Functions no longer throw errors. Users are now able to set encrypt flag on SQL destination

Known Issues and Workarounds

  • Authentication success and failure tracking is available with Tanium Server 6.6 or later at this time.
