Improvements
- Added capability to create Zero Trust rules that can target based off of Computer Groups
- Added capability to limit the Zero Trust rule execution based off time of last seen for the endpoint
Resolved Issues
- Endpoint targeting seems to imply that we will include endpoints with no tenant ID, but the generated rule doesn't
- Long question for targeting protrudes from the screen
- Zero Trust action group does not respect the "Restricted Targeting" platform setting
- Zero Trust rule does not evaluate parameterized sensors
- Zero Trust does not work for Azure AD in Azure Government Community Cloud (GCC and GCC High)
- Link to release notes goes to incorrect URL
- Question continues to run for rules that have been deleted
- When a rule with a parameterized sensor exists, it prevents other rules from running
- Rule groups are ignored when querying TDS
Tanium Cloud Release Date: 9 November 2023
Resolved Issues
- Fixed issue causing service to fail should TDS return unexpected values.
Tanium Cloud Release Date: 14 August 2023
The GA version includes improvements over the Early Preview version that is currently in market now, including:
- Simplified rule creation, only need to set up a targeting filter instead of both a trigger and removal filter
- Events export capability through Connect for both Audit and Enforced Rules
- Rule prioritization
- Preview the endpoints being targeted
- Cert based authentication to Azure AD now known as Entra ID. Secrets based authentication will also continue to be supported
- Built for scale and faster targeting
- No longer requires premium versions of Entra ID, the basic version is sufficient
- Support for domain joined Mac and Linux (Ubuntu)
Known Issues
- Zero Trust does not support rule targeting through parameterized sensors. Users should use non-parameterized sensors only when configuring rule targeting.
