- System User Service creates system users that might be visible in Tanium Console 3.0 and earlier. In Tanium Console 3.1 and later, the system users do not show up in the users list, however the users might appear in logs, through the platform API, and other instances in the Tanium Console. The system users are necessary for the product to function correctly. These user accounts do not have sign-in privileges for the console. As such, they do not have a password and have no implications on password rotation requirements. These users cannot conflict with any account created by administrator

Known Issues and Workarounds
- For Tanium All-in-One deployments with IPv6 enabled, before you install System User Service, you must first add the
::1IPv6 address to theapi_token_trusted_ip_address_listplatform setting. Otherwise, the installation process does not complete.
- From the Main menu, go to Administration > Configuration > Platform Settings.
- Click api_token_trusted_ip_address_list.
- Enter
::1in the Value field, then click Save.
