Cloud Release Starting on: November 5, 2026

Initial Release

This release introduces MCP connectors in Tanium Atlas. Administrators register remote MCP servers as connectors, and Atlas uses their tools within a conversation under the permissions of the user making the request.

Features

  • Administrators register a remote MCP server as an MCP connector by URL from the MCP Connectors page template.
    • A new connector remains disabled until an administrator authenticates and enables it.
    • Supported authentication methods are OAuth, API key or bearer token, basic authentication, and no authentication.
  • Administrators review the tools a connector exposes and optionally set each tool to Always allow, Needs approval, or Blocked.
  • Each connector is assigned to a content set. The default content set is MCP Registry. Only users with permissions to the content set can see and use the connector.
  • Users link their own account to an enabled connector from the MCP Connections panel. Tool calls run with the permissions of the linking user in the connected system.
  • The /mcp command opens the MCP Connectors page.
  • The MCP server hostname, and its OAuth authorization server hostname where applicable, must be in the network egress allow list. For more information, see Configuring network egress for Tanium Cloud.
  • Refer to the Tanium Atlas User Guide at Tanium Atlas: MCP connectors
