- "400 Bad Request SOAP Processing Exception" displays when specifying "from computers with" filter after setting "Get the following data" while creating a source.
- Workaround: Define all "from all computers with" filters first, and click Apply for each one. Select the data sensor in "Get the following data" and click Apply. After the preview displays, click Create to save the source.
- Fix: This is an issue with the Question Builder. It can be resolved by upgrading to Tanium Server 7.2.314.3181.
- Unable to create source saved questions that have a filter on a parameterized sensor in the “with” clause.
- Fix: This is an issue with the Question Builder. It can be resolved by upgrading to Tanium Server 7.2.314.3181.
Additional Information
Requirements
- A Tanium service account is used for Trends 2.x to collect data for sources. The service account requires Administrator or Content Administrator credentials and must have access to all computer groups and endpoints that data will be collected from. If you are upgrading from Trends 1.x, it is recommended to use this service account to update the module so that it owns the migrated saved questions.
- Tanium Platform 7.0.314.6085+
Recommendations
- It is recommended you use the latest Tanium Platform version.
- To achieve the most accurate results, update Tanium Client to 6.0.314.1540+.
Upgrade from Trends 1.x
- Contact your TAM to help review current Trends sources to ensure a smooth upgrade and migration of data.
- Sources in 2.x collect data using a new service account to collect data. In 1.x, data was collected with the visibility of the user that created the source. Migrating sources from 1.x to 2.x will cause them to start to use the new service account for visibility which could include endpoint results not included in the original source.
- It is highly recommended that you back up all Trends 1.x data and files before upgrading. Failure to do so will prevent you from being able to rollback. To back up Trends 1.x configuration and saved questions before upgrading:
- In the Trends workbench, download the Trends Support Package.
- In the Connect workbench, download the Connect Troubleshooting Package.
- Go to Authoring Section > Saved Questions, and export all saved questions.
