Tanium Client 7.4.9.1046
Release Date: Sep 13, 2022.
Special Notes
- This version of the client now supports the following new platforms:
- macOS Universal Binaries for macOS 11+ for both Intel and M1 based devices
- RHEL 9, Rocky Linux 9, and AlmaLinux 9
Security Updates
- N/A.
New Features
- The Tanium Client will now ignore unreadable protected configuration values when setting them. This is to allow operations like
pki resetto succeed even when their current values are no longer accessible and present a "Failed to finalize decryption" error. - The Tanium Client will now refuse to install over a newer version, denying the possibility to downgrade the version of a client. Downgrade installations will only be supported by fully un-installing the newer client and then installing the desired, older version.
- The Tanium Client now offers support for RHEL v9 and its clones, Rocky Linux v9 and AlmaLinux v9
- The Tanium Client now offers Universal Binary support for macOS V11+
- Tanium components now ship with OpenSSL v1.0.2ze.
- Tanium component installer RPMs for RHEL platforms will now be
gzipcompressed. - Tanium Platform components now ship with SQLite v3.39.2.
Improvements
- Tanium Client packages for Debian platforms will no longer be built using
fpmin order to avoid some of this packaging tool's limitations.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a problem with the Tanium Client installer which would fail to work properly on RHEL v8 with FIPS mode enabled.
- Fixed an issue where a Tanium Client would peer incorrectly and impact the distribution of Package file bytes when the endpoint is configured with multiple IP addresses.
- Fixed a condition in the Tanium Client which would cause it to stop operating when it cannot read the contents of its state databases due to a mismatch in the
StateProtectedFlagsetting. - Fixed an issue in the Tanium Client's handling of internal settings associated with
StateProtectedFlagconfigurations, which would impact startup and operation. - Fixed an issue in the Tanium Client where it would fail to deduplicate some of its URL download requests.
- Fixed a condition where pervious Tanium Client downgrades and then upgrades could express a previously fixed bug that cause a large amount of log-spam with the message:
boost::filesystem::copy_file. - Fixed an issue in the Tanium Client where log rotation might fail when running with high values of
LogVerbosityLevel, resulting in unexpectedly largeTC/Logs/log0.txtfiles. - Fixed a problem where log rotations would not happen correctly for log files already larger than
4GB.
Known Issues and Workarounds
- N/A.
