Tanium Client 7.4.7.1130

Release Date: February 22, 2022.

Special Notes

  • Tanium Clients v7.4.7.1130+ are a prerequisite for the use of the Tanium Server Intentional Subnets feature.

New Features

  • The Tanium Server, Console and Tanium Client now implement the Intentional Subnets feature as a configurable mechanism to allow endpoints with different NAT addresses to peer with each other.

Improvements

  • The Tanium Client now sets an environment variable named TANIUM_CLIENT_ARCHITECTURE that subprocesses can use to learn the hardware architecture for which the Client binaries were compiled for.
  • The Tanium Client implements improvements in its Package file download performance, offering important speed-ups when there is bandwidth available on the server side.
  • The Tanium Client will now mark Actions it knows about and has worked on as "already seen" on startup, reducing unnecessary network traffic and targeting evaluations on the client.
  • The Tanium Client will now log download API requests made locally with download identifiers when running with LogVerbosityLevel > 40.
  • A Tanium Client configured to use a proxy automatic configuration (PAC) file will now fall-back to attempt a direct connection if the PAC file cannot be accessed and used successfully to connect via a proxy.
  • Reduced the Tanium Client's activity when serializing Question results to its answers.db database by omitting the writes of same value resultls.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the Tanium Client installer for MacOS in that it contained Universal Binaries but the package itself required the Rosetta subsystem to be present in order to execute the installation.
  • Fixed a crash condition in the Solaris Tanium Client associated with the GetLocalAddresses function on Solaris v11.
  • Fixed a condition by which a Tanium Client could crash when writing Question result updates to its answers.db database.

Additional Information

  • The Tanium Client will no longer install on Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista endpoints because they are no longer supported.

Known Issues and Workarounds
