  • Direct Connection to endpoints from within Reveal does not work for on-premises installations of this release. This issue is fixed in the next release.

  • When upgrading from Reveal 1.x, Path Exclusions will not be migrated to valid regex in all cases. If upgrading from Reveal 1.x, please review all Profiles to confirm the entries in the Path Exclusions are valid/properly escaped regex or Scans may not run and endpoints will be stuck in an Initializing state.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where pivoting to Interact to view Saved Question results from charts could produce an error with certain RBAC roles.
  • Fixed an issue with sensors hitting a byte limit and failing to return all data.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the Extractor to hang on certain files if Patterns contained complex RegEx.
  • Fixed an issue where Windows endpoints were not properly parsing files nested multiple levels deep in Zip files (which includes Office documents with other Office documents embedded in them).
  • Fixed an issue that could cause high CPU usage when a scan resumes after the endpoint was shut down for an extended period of time.
  • Fixed an issue where Client Extensions still reports Reveal status on endpoints where Reveal has been uninstalled.
  • Fixed an issue where sensors used to return file details were returning the incorrect Rule when a wildcard was used for the Rule ID.

Improvements

  • High-frequency token filtering
    • Significantly reduces the size of the Index database with Quick Search enabled by filtering out tokens that represent the most commonly found words on an endpoint. (i.e. “the”, “and”, “or”, etc.)
    • Words that are found in more than 500 files are filtered.
      • New configuration option allows adjusting this threshold or disabling the feature.
  • Added the “Reveal - Index - Tuning - Get Top Paths” sensor.
  • Added the “Reveal - Index - Is Path Indexed” sensor.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue with Validations not showing up immediately in Snippets.
  • Updated terminology in the UI to be more consistent.
  • Fixed an issue where the “Created By” and “Last Modified By” fields on a profile may be displayed incorrectly.
  • Fixed an issue where the number of matching Validations may be displayed incorrectly.
  • Fixed an issue with deprecated Reveal 1.x sensors not being unregistered from TDS.
