Tanium Reveal 1.4.3.0002

Changes
- The Reveal Operator role was added. This role has the same permissions as Reveal Administrator, but without the permission to configure the service account. The Reveal Operator role is also unable to modify the Reveal Service settings for Log Level and Enabling of Sensitive Data Logging.
- Live connections that a user has requested are prioritized in that user's recent connections list so that they can be easily found.
Fixes
- Limited the number of simultaneous Direct Connection attempts to five (5) to avoid performance issues.
- Fixed an issue where the Validations page was not rendering properly in Internet Explorer.
- Fixed an issue where after typing the third character in the recent connections list, all recent connections became filtered out.
- Made a change where pending change information is now displayed in a banner on Rule and Rule set pages after the pattern definitions file is modified.
Upgrade Notes
- Reveal 1.4.3 will not support Windows 2008 R2 (bare). You must have at least installed Service Pack 1 (circa 2011) for Reveal's python sensors to execute on a Win2008R2 endpoint.
Tanium Reveal 1.4.2.0011

- Tanium Reveal now integrates with Tanium Trends to show Reveal charts through the Trends initial gallery (Requires Tanium Trends 2.4 or later).
- This release upgrades to Tanium Python version 1.3.0.44 with installer version 1.3.2
- Update Tanium Client extension to 2.2.0.1114
- Adds a separate process for client extensions (TaniumCX or TaniumCX.exe), running under the client.
- This will require new anti-virus exclusions. Work with your TAM to ensure these are set up properly.
- These changes were made to make the client extensions more robust, supportable, and allow more functionality than previously possible.
- If you upgrade Patch or Reveal before upgrading Threat Response the ability of the Recorder to filter out Tanium Processes can perform incorrectly and scan cause them to be unexpectedly stored in the recorder.db. To ensure the Tanium Recorder's event filtering stays intact, please upgrade Threat Response at the same time or before Patch or Reveal.
- Note: Installing this version of Tanium Client Extensions on an endpoint running Threat Response 2.2 or lower may cause issues with process exclusions. Please work with your TAM if you think this may impact you.
- Adds a separate process for client extensions (TaniumCX or TaniumCX.exe), running under the client.
Fixes
- Fixed an issue where high memory consumption was detected on endpoints during indexing.
- Fixed issues with the user interface including the hover text for the Find Matching Hash button, the display of validation metadata in snippets, the display of all patterns that a rule contains, and the display of the user id that is current user.

- Reveal endpoint connections use Tanium Direct Connect and no longer rely on Threat Response or Trace.
- Import and automatically configure default settings and dependencies with Tanium Core Platform 7.4.2 or later.
- Added the ability to import and export pattern and file type definitions from the workbench.
- Added controls to navigate directly to the next/previous file from snippets view.
- Highlight affected files with stale data in the affected files view.
- Prioritize rescan of files with stale data.
- Pending validations are automatically published soon after they are created.
