Tanium Reveal 1.1.4

Changes

  • Exposes service settings in the workbench.
  • Unconfirmed matches are now shown in rule and rule set results.
  • Reduces I/O priority and duration of CPU spikes on endpoints.
  • Rules deployment now requires password authentication.
  • Reveal now recreates rule and rule set profile packages if they are deleted.
  • Enterprise-wide questions with Tanium Index are no longer restricted to endpoints with Reveal.
  • Addresses a regression where Reveal metrics were limited to 1000 endpoints.
  • Packages for deleted rule set profiles will now be automatically deleted.
  • Fixes reliability of re-establishing live connections on endpoints that have closed connections.

Requirements

  • Minimum Tanium Trace version 2.7.10.0001 is required for all live connection features of Reveal. Tanium Trace as part of the Tanium Threat Response is now supported.
  • Reveal supports Windows and macOS endpoints.

  • File snippets page now shows a live preview of validations in affected snippets.
  • Addresses an issue where rule set donuts were overreporting affected endpoints.
  • Result grids now only show results for endpoints that are affected.
  • Rule set result grid will only show rows for rules that are contained within the rule set.
  • Fixes an issue where validations may not show any results after being deployed.
  • Fixes an issue where automatic rules deployment would trigger prematurely.

Tanium Reveal 1.1.1

Release Date: 12 March 2019

Changes

  • Fixes an issue where Reveal could hang on an endpoint while pruning an oversize database.
  • Allows Reveal to start scanning before Index finishes hashing.
  • Adds filters to snippet page to view validations by unverified/confirmed or rejected.
  • Affected Files and Snippet pages now offer a prompt to re-connect when live connection is no longer active.
  • Fixes quick search when searching for a phrase containing a stop word. Note: Quick search will not work against endpoints using older versions of the Reveal endpoint tools.
  • Improves targeting for tools update action.
  • Fixes an issue where a snippet would not highlight the validation content when it matched the pattern highlight.
  • Reveal status sensor now reports whether Reveal is currently scanning the endpoint.
  • Audit log now logs both username and id.

Tanium Reveal 1.1.0

  • View endpoints affected by a particular rule or rule set.
  • Live-connect to an endpoint and view affected files and file snippets (Trace required).
  • Create validation patterns from snippet results to identify and prune false positives.
  • Perform a quick search across your environment to find matching content within files.

Requirements

  • A Reveal LA release cannot be upgraded to a Reveal GA release. A complete uninstallation of the Reveal Server and the Reveal Endpoint Tools is required. After installation Reveal will have to re-index all files on the endpoint.
  • Minimum Tanium Trace version 2.7.10.0001 is required for all live connection features of Reveal. Tanium Trace as part of the Tanium Threat Response module is not supported at this time.
  • Reveal supports Windows and macOS endpoints
