Tanium Reputation Version 5.6.49

Release Date: 10/11/2020

Resolved Issues

  • Fixed issue hashes submitted to Reputation would not be reported via the aggregate reputations API route (/v3/aggregate-reputations) if was already in list of Reputation blacklist. This primarily impacted Threat Response when using Reputation as an Intel source.
  • Reputation APIs that return reputation hash data may include a new field, hasObservations, with the value being a 0 or 1.
    • A value of 0 indicates that the associated hash has never been submitted to Reputation outside of a blacklist/whitelist entry.
    • A value of 1 indicates that the hash has been submitted to Reputation at some point, usually through a Connect job or Threat Response Live Connection.
  • The behavior of aggregate reputations API route (/v3/aggregate-reputations) handling of the *customOnly* parameter has changed. This API is primarily used by Threat Response when retrieving Intel from Reputation.
    • When set to 0, the response will include:
      • reputation entries that *do not* exclusively appear within a blacklist/whitelist (ie: we have reputation analysis from a provider like VirusTotal).
      • reputation entries that *do* exclusively appear within a blacklist/whitelist AND *have been* submitted via the reputation API.
    • When set to 1, the response will include:
      • reputation entries that *do* exclusively appear within a blacklist/whitelist *AND* *have never been* submitted via the reputation API.
