Tanium Reporting 1.8.52.0000

Release Date: August 9, 2022

Resolved Issues

  • Fixed an issue where sensors returning mixed string and numeric results could cause the Panel to fail to display. This could cause an error displaying the Highest Vulnerability Count by Highest CVE chart in Risk in some environments.
  • Fixed an issue where some chart items could not be sorted alphabetically.
  • Miscellaneous Bug Fixes

Tanium Reporting 1.8.47.0000

Release Date: June 21, 2022

Security Updates

  • This release includes security updates. Details of the issues, including affected versions and mitigation information, can be obtained within Tanium's Support Portal or by contacting your TAM.

Resolved Issues

  • Replaced the “Top 10 Endpoints With High Severity Vulnerabilities” panel in the Risk and Compliance Managed Dashboard with “All CVE Findings” and “All CVE Findings - Last 30 days” panels.
  • Fixed an issue where Reports with a large number of results could fail to export using the Connect plugin.
  • Fixed an issue where bar charts would show multiple values for the same item if a source collected more than once a day.
  • Fixed an issue where items with the same count or value would not be sorted in the same order each time. This could lead to historical charts with different “Top 10” items every day as long as there were greater than 10 items with the same value.
  • Miscellaneous Bug Fixes

Tanium Reporting 1.8.40.0000

Release Date: June 6, 2022

This is the first release of Reporting that enables the new Dashboard, Reporting, and Explore Data user experiences for on-prem environments.

Explore Data and Reports

Explore Data allows users to query cached data and see immediate results of filters applied and columns added. This makes it easy to find and filter data while turning it into actionable information. Saving the data exploration creates a Report with the exact view of the data that can be shared throughout or selectively within the organization

Dashboards

Dashboards allow users to group important information visually so it can be quickly and easily understood. Dashboards allow trending historical aggregate data to add context and show progress compared to the current state. Dashboard panel visualizations are created from Reports without the need to setup a new query or report. Drilling into a panel opens the underlying report with the drill down filter applied.

Tanium Managed Dashboards and Reports (Managed Content)

Tanium Managed Dashboards and Reports are curated and updated by Tanium. Managed Content can't be removed or changed as it will be updated and overwritten regularly. Users can change the content set of Managed Content to restrict visibility of the content for users. Users can also clone the Managed Dashboard or Report if they wish to make changes or further customize it.

Initial Managed Dashboards:

  • Asset Discovery and Inventory
  • Endpoint Management
  • Risk and Compliance

Role-based access control

Reports and Dashboards are assigned to content sets giving users flexibility over who can view and edit.

Users need to be Administrators, have a reporting role, or reporting permissions assigned to them in order to see and use Reporting, Dashboards, and Explore Data.

Known Issues

  • Large reports can fail to export from Connect with REPORT_DATA_TOO_LARGE Error.
  • Charts have a maximum number of items to display. Over that limit items are not shown. If there are more than the maximum number of results and the items have the same count the order of items is not guaranteed. This can lead to different items being truncated when viewing the results over multiple days.

Requirements

Reporting requires Interact 2.12.113 and Tanium Server 7.5.4.1158.
