Tanium Reporting 1.12.144

Release Date: January 10, 2023

Requirements

Reporting has the following required dependencies at the specified minimum versions:

  • Tanium Server 7.5.4.1158 or later
  • Tanium Interact 2.14.106 or later
  • Core Content 1.5.57 or later
  • Default Computer Groups 1.0.6 or later
  • Default Content 8.1.95 or later
  • Reporting Content 1.0.21 or later
  • Tanium Blob Service 1.0.6 or later
  • Tanium RDB Service 1.0.84 or later
  • Tanium System User Service 1.0.40 or later

Enhancements

  • Within reports and Explore Data, users can “Take Action” to deploy platform package actions targeting all filtered results or selected rows.
  • Reports and Explore Data have an “Investigate in Interact” option that allows drill down into one or more rows to ask follow-up questions directly of endpoints in Interact.
  • The count column in reports and Explore Data is a link that drills down into a filtered inventory report showing basic endpoint details. By default, this report is the Tanium Managed “ADI - Basic Inventory” report. Customers can change this to a report they create that provides additional endpoint details and business context.
  • Added ability to export Dashboards as HTML files for sharing outside of the Tanium console. Dashboards can be exported to HTML when viewing a Dashboard or scheduled to export in Connect. Connect can export the Dashboard as an HTML file that can be sent by email, saved as a file on the Tanium Module Server, or sent directly to an AWS S3 bucket or SMB file share.
  • Added an Endpoint Management tab to Endpoint Details with visibility into OS Patch Applicability, Software Package Applicability, OS Scan Configuration, and Maintenance Windows.
  • Added the ability to Install, Update, or Remove Deploy Software Packages inside of Endpoint Details.
  • Added ability to customize tabs within the Endpoint Details view. Users can re-order, exclude, clone and create new tabs with panels that will persist in the Endpoint Details view. A gallery of pre-configured panels is available to choose from.
  • Added Text Panel option for dashboards to allow richly formatted text and links to be included within dashboards. This allows dashboard authors to provide additional context and links to resources within dashboards.
  • Historical charts for the Last 7 Days or Last 30 Days now end in the current results instead of the stored historical results. This ensures consistency with other charts showing the current results.
  • Added support for grouping columns by sensor when using the Reporting Connect plugin to export JSON.
  • Report and dashboard labels can now be renamed.

Resolved Issues

  • Fixed an issue where dashboard panels would timeout with an error when Tanium was under load, or the query took greater than 55 seconds to load. Individual dashboard panels will now wait for results for up to 10 minutes.
  • Fixed an issue where the Reporting Viewer role could see the dashboard create and save buttons even though they did not have the privileges to create or save dashboards.
  • Fixed an issue where CSV export of a report could result in a 500 error if the report was large enough to trigger the error.
  • Fixed an issue where the Risk Score for an endpoint could not be selected in Explore Data.
  • Fixed a database connection creation issue where internal server errors were returned when enough users accessed Reports and Dashboards simultaneously.
  • Fixed an issue where editing an existing filter in a report will drop the selected operator.
  • Fixed an issue where exporting Reports with large result sets to CSV would time out.
  • Fixed an issue where new panels were being created at the bottom of a dashboard instead of the section they were created in.
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes and improvements to support metrics.
