Upgrade Notes

  • Installation or upgrade of Tanium Interact, Tanium Trends, and Tanium Client Management must be completed prior to installing Tanium Performance 1.6 or any other module supporting the Endpoint Configuration management framework.

Improvements

  • This release includes a refreshed user experience, bringing more reporting, consistency, and configurability to the forefront.
  • This release includes a new endpoint configuration framework, replacing the actions and packages formerly used to configure endpoint tooling.
  • Added Performance Coverage and Endpoints with Critical Performance Events to the IT Operations Metrics Board available in the Trends Gallery.
  • Improved Direct Connect search and connect experience.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixes issue in the prioritization modal when dragging and dropping a profile to the top of the list.
  • Fixes profile list page’s delete action to handle select all.
  • Improved question asking logs.
  • Fixes slowness in asking questions on overview and event pages when using a role that is not Tanium Administrator.
  • No longer reset Tanium Client when tools are laid down.
  • Updates Python to 2.0.24.
  • Gracefully enforce module dependencies.
  • Update direct connect default duration to past day.
  • Ignore invalid connected to waiting state transition to avoid immediate direct connect disconnects.
  • Memory metrics for Mac corrected with Tanium Client Management v1.5.89 or higher.

Notes / Known Issues

With this release, we are ending Tanium Administrative Console and Workbench support for Internet Explorer 11. For the best experience, use a recent version of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Mozilla Firefox to access the Tanium Console.

Requirements

  • Tanium Platform 7.3.314.4250 or later
  • Tanium Client 7.2.314.3211 or later
  • Tanium Direct Connect 1.0 or later
  • File browsing on Windows supports files impacted by file system redirection starting with Direct Connect version 1.5.12.0000.
  • File downloads feature requires Tanium Direct Connect version 1.3.1.
    • With Tanium Direct Connect 1.2 or later, Performance can Direct Connect to endpoints that communicate through a Zone Server.
  • The releases of Tanium Trace 2.9.0.0035, Threat Response 1.2.0.0037, Map 1.1.1.0006, and Integrity Monitor 1.7.0.0035 and later all include a significant update to how the endpoint recorder technology is distributed and managed. Performance cannot be installed on an endpoint running an earlier version of these modules.
