Feature Improvements

  • Updates the Tanium Performance Trends gallery.
    • Endpoints with critical events (system crashes, application crashes, and disk capacity events).
    • Adds Performance Coverage to Trends gallery.
  • Clicking on the All Events graph will take you to the respective events pages.
  • Loads endpoints with events automatically without a button click.
  • Connecting directly to an endpoint through Direct Connect from the Events page will retain the time scope.
  • Gives Direct Connect privileges to Performance users out of the box.
  • Adds disk capacity events as annotations.
  • Adds the IP address to the info section of Direct Connect.
  • Adds credential check when trying to delete, re-order, or edit existing profiles.
  • Adds a View in Interact link to the Home page metrics section.
  • Updates default order of Home page sections.
  • Updates Performance Tools actions to distribute over 3 minutes in the case of auto configuration for new installs. Existing installs or installs not using auto configuration will continue to use 20 minutes.
  • Moves Home page’s best practices section to the Help top rail.
  • This release upgrades to Tanium Python version 1.4.0.45 with installer version 1.4.3.

  • Fixes an issue where MB and MiB units are used throughout. Settled on always using MB style units.
  • Fixes an issue with duplicate text in the Performance - Configured sensor’s description field.
  • Fixes an issue where errant clicks on Direct Connect charts could cause accidental zooms.
  • Fixes an issue where manually changing the distribute over time value for Performance Tools actions would get overwritten.
  • Fixes an issue where two or more datasets with different units would result in confusing y-axis behaviors.
  • Fixes an issue with hard to detect correlations between two or more datasets with orders of magnitude difference in the values.
  • Fixes an issue where selecting top processes would show 1 data set before the others in some cases.
  • Fixes an issue where slow file browsing was not providing feedback that the list was loading.

Known Issues and Workarounds

  • Available Memory calculation on macOS does not take into account cached memory, which can lead to reports of low available memory.

Requirements

  • Tanium Platform 7.2 or later
  • Tanium Client Version 7.2.314.3211 or later
  • Tanium Direct Connect 1.0 or later
  • File browsing on Windows supports files impacted by file system redirection starting with Direct Connect version 1.5.12.0000.
  • File downloads feature requires Tanium Direct Connect version 1.3.1.
    • With Tanium Direct Connect 1.2 or later, Performance can Direct Connect to endpoints that communicate through a Zone Server.
  • The releases of Tanium Trace 2.9.0.0035, Threat Response 1.2.0.0037, Map 1.1.1.0006, and Integrity Monitor 1.7.0.0035 and later all include a significant update to how the endpoint recorder technology is distributed and managed. Performance cannot be installed on an endpoint running an earlier version of these modules.
