Resolved Issues
- Fixed an issue that caused Patch List Applicability data to be incomplete in environments with many Patch List Applicability results.
- Fixed an issue with invalid scan results files causing the Patch process to crash.
- Fixed an issue with restart notification not showing correctly on endpoints using Japanese-language versions of Windows.
- Fixed an issue with RHEL 8 and CentOS 8 sometimes failing to download repository data.
- Fixed an issue that caused Ubuntu endpoints to fail to restart after installing patches requiring restart.
- Fixed an issue with config file conflicts not being handled correctly on Debian and Ubuntu endpoints.
- Fixed an issue with the end of Daylight Saving Time causing endpoints to incorrectly report that a reboot is required after applying patches and rebooting.
- Fixed an issue with successful Patch scans not clearing existing scan errors.
- Fixed an issue that caused the Patch process on certain Windows endpoints to quit due to a Microsoft VBScript runtime error.
- Fixed an issue with large numbers of active and inactive deployments causing the Deployments page to become slow.
- Fixed an issue with deployments that have not reached their start time reporting incorrect applicability data.
- Fixed an issue with CentOS 7 endpoints failing to provide CVE data if DNF is installed.
Known Issues
- Because of MDM requirements for patching that were introduced in macOS Monterey 12.1, Tanium Patch does not support macOS Monterey 12.1 or later.
- Tanium Scan For Windows still has some known synchronization issues with certain WSUS environments.
- Deploying operating system patches that require reboot is currently unsupported on Apple Silicon (M1 chip) macOS devices.
- Due to changes in Endpoint Configuration metadata, customers with approvals enabled will need to re-approve all Patch endpoint configurations.
Prerequisites
- Red Hat, CentOS, and Oracle Linux endpoints require a minimum YUM version of yum-3.2.29-22.el6 to engage in Tanium Patch.
- Windows endpoints require a minimum operating system version of Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
- macOS endpoints require a minimum operating system version of 10.14.
- Ubuntu endpoints require a minimum operating system version of 14.04.
- Debian endpoints require a minimum operating system version of 8.0.
