  • Tanium is addressing an emerging issue with the 2024-07 Microsoft cumulative update (KB5040442) that affects Tanium Patch scans on Windows 11 22H2 and Windows 11 23H2 systems. Please review this community post for additional details.
  • The Patch service and workbench show errors immediately after a Patch installation, until service startup completes.
  • Tanium Scan For Windows still has some known synchronization issues with certain WSUS environments.
  • You cannot upgrade directly to this version of Tanium Patch from Tanium Patch 3.7 or earlier. If you are upgrading from Tanium Patch 3.7 or earlier, upgrade to Tanium Patch 3.13 as an intermediate step. Contact Tanium Support or your TAM for details.

  • Added Australia/Adelaide (GMT+1030) time zone option for deployments.
  • Granted operator more control over appearance and behavior of End User Notifications for deployments.
  • Improved syntax of error messages for download failures that occur on Linux endpoints.
  • Patch now provides a setting that allows scanning and deployments on action-locked endpoints.
  • A new sensor Patch - Patch Process Options is now available to retrieve Patch options configured on the endpoint.
  • Improved error reporting for common Linux package manager failures.
  • Patch Deployment statuses have been improved. Two new high level statuses are now reported: Needs Attention and Pending Restart. See the user guide for more details.
  • Allow operator to set custom Tanium Scan for Windows related settings via the "Patch - Set Patch Process Options [Windows]" package.
  • Various performance improvements.

  • Fixed an issue that could cause patches to install outside of scheduled maintenance windows.
  • Fixed an issue where the Complete column in the Deployments view did not sort correctly.
  • Fixed an issue where deployment download cleanup could occur earlier or later than expected.
  • Fixed an issue where deployment end date did not update accordingly when user changed start date.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause a self service deployment to get stuck in an Initializing state.
  • Fixed an issue that caused "Patch - OS for Applicable Patches" to fail to identify Windows Server 2022 endpoints.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause Patch deployments to fail to reboot for Linux Microcode updates.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause scans to fail on Linux endpoints that use the YUM package manager.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the Patch Workbench to crash upon loading inactive deployments.
  • Fixed a rare race condition in Patch Windows scans.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause stale repository data to persist in the DNF cache on endpoints using Tanium Patch managed repositories.
  • Fixed an issue where the content set name was not shown on the Deployment details page.
