Thank you for choosing Tanium. This article documents changes between releases of Tanium Patch.

New Features

  • Patch scanning can now be managed via Scan Configurations
  • Added support for Windows Software Update Service (WSUS) to be used as a scan source
  • Added support for scanning against Microsoft Update service to be used as a scan source
  • Integrated Maintenance Window configuration and targeting

Known Issues and Workarounds

  • Patch 1.x must be removed prior to installing Patch 2.0. Failure to remove Patch1.x before installing may cause console access issues. Please contact your Technical Account Manager for assistance
  • Airgap environments using an offline cab file must upload the wsusscn2.cab and MS-CVEs.dat file to the 'Patch - External File References' package.
  • When stopping a deployment that is using "Local Endpoint Time", endpoints that are in an earlier time zone than the Tanium browser might see up to a 24 hour delay before the deployment is stopped on those endpoints.
  • Windows XP and Windows XPx64 may require a Windows Update Agent upgrade for reliable scanning and patch deployment.
  • The All Computers group must remain selected for accurate Patch Applicability Reporting
  • Stop button for an Inactive Deployment (future) might be greyed out if deployment end time is later than midnight GMT.
