Enhancements
- Updated the question parser to parse text questions in the browser instead of on the server. This results in an improved and more responsive user experience when formulating a query or filling out question parameters. You can now view sensor descriptions and runtime statistics from the suggested question text.
- Improved the communication format between the core platform servers and Tanium Data Service (TDS) that significantly decreases the processing time for continuous harvest results.
- High Availability Aware Harvesting distributes questions used for continuous harvest evenly between Tanium servers in an active-active configuration. This decreases load on individual servers in comparison with previous versions of TDS.
- Staggered harvesting spreads question execution over the duration of the harvest period. This distributes the demand for endpoints over time and reduces spikes in Tanium client resource usage. Additionally, this reduces the question issuance and response processing demand on the core platform servers.
- Optimized the collection and querying of custom tags so that you can use the results of custom tags for Custom Tag Exists queries.
- Multiple improvements to the performance and stability of Interact.
Resolved Issues
- Improved performance by fixing an issue where cached data queries would not process cancelation requests for queries that were no longer required.
- Fixed an issue where a released sensor would register again and continue to be harvested.
- Fixed an issue where menu interaction and result grid scrolling could become temporarily unresponsive when viewing question results.
- Fixed an issue where the question parser did not suggest results for the having keyword.
- Fixed an issue where it was not possible to scroll to see all columns returned by clicking See All with truncated nested results.
- Fixed an issue where deploying an action versus multiple rows could result in an Incorrect number of strings error.
- Fixed an issue where sensor execution errors were displayed in the Environment Status section on the Tanium Home page.
