Tanium Discover 3.3.8.0001
Release Date: June 30, 2020
Major Features
- Added Centralized Nmap scan optimization. Instead of executing the requested scan against the entire range, a quick scan of the range is done first to identify responsive endpoints. Then, the requested scan is run against only the quick scan range of endpoints.
Enhancements
- Added First Managed column to the Interfaces pages. This column shows the timestamp for an interface when it transitioned from unmanaged to managed.
- Updated the Distribute Tools actions to use 5 min issue and 3 min distribute over time on small environments, where the install is new and the auto-configuration is selected. Otherwise the 3.2 defaults are used.
- Modified the calculation of the "% of all interfaces managed" metric to exclude unmanageable interfaces.
- Improved home page layout.
- Updated import process to skip saved questions if no endpoints are registered.
- Added version information to the troubleshooting zip file (see application-info.json).
Incompatible changes to export format
- Changed the name of the method for a level 2 scan from script to ping.
Changes to included components
- Upgraded OUI data from 11.0.9 to 11.0.22.
Issues Addressed
- Aggregated results from multiple centralized scans would sometimes fail to be parsed during import.
- TanOS system checks could cause centralized Nmap scans to fail.
- MAC addresses missing from results could cause the import process to fail and therefore fail to update Last Seen, Last Managed, etc. timestamps.
- Gracefully attempts to halt nmap.exe before invoking kill when a centralized Nmap scan exceeds its timeout.
