Tanium Discover 2.8.0.0068

Release Date: August 14, 2018

Upgrading to this version involves a migration to a new database schema. We suggest you manually back up your database before upgrading. The migration might take some time, and depends on the size of your Discover database.

While the database is migrating, the Discover workbench and service is not usable. A banner at the top of the Discover workbench displays the migration status. After the migration is finished, a link to enter service account information is displayed.

New Features

  • Adds multi-value conditions for labeling.
  • Introduces the Discover Service Account role.
  • Produces database backup on upgrade (located in Tanium Module Server/services/discover-service-files).
  • Nmap and Ping methods must now be republished after upgrade.

Resolved Issues

  • Sets the process_group_flag to 1 for all Discover packages except Execute Discover Scan and Execute Discover Scan for Non-Windows.
  • Removes Has Latest Nmap Scanner.
  • Fixes IE11 Compatibility issues.

Discover 2.8.0.0068 Update Recommendation in Active Active server environments

In Active - Active Tanium Server configurations, upgrade the first Tanium Module Server and review the banner on the Discover home page to see a completion of the database migration before you upgrade the second Tanium Server.
