New Features
- The Connected Assets sensor now properly limits results by the client subnet mask.
- Wireless adapters that were previously seen as managed are no longer falsely marked as unmanaged when they are not connected to the network.
- “Assets” were renamed “Interfaces”, and “Tags” were renamed “Labels”. Both updates are terminology changes only and do not affect product functionality.
Improvements
- Moved the Discover database and log files to facilitate serviceability and stability during upgrades. The new path for these files is Tanium Module Server\services\discover-service-files.
- Added information to the Discover troubleshooting zip file to allow for easier debugging by the TAMs and support staff. The additional logging includes backend activities, tags, and discovery method definitions. The support zip file does not include any information discovered from the environment.
- Added lazy loading to the Discover workbench to reduce page load times.
- Updated the Ping and Nmap scanners to include more diagnostic information in the action logs for debugging purposes.
Resolved Issues
- Improved the reliability of question asking during the Discover import process.
- Resolved problem that caused Lost Interface tags to be removed.
- Added support for configuration names with spaces to the Discover Configuration Exists sensor.
- Updated Interface details page to properly display First and Last seen dates.
- Managed Interfaces imported into the system are now properly flagged with ‘managed’ in the method.
- Made the Last Discovered column visible in the Interface tables.
- Resolved an issue that caused the Percent Managed statistic to be shown incorrectly.
- Updated the Discovery Method configuration to display in Tanium 6.5.
- Updated the Unmanaged Asset Sensor to resolve failures that occurred when encountering large Tanium port numbers.
- Updated Interface details view to include OS Generation field.
- Resolved conflicts between logging from notification subprocesses and the core server logs.
- Updated the Ping Script on Ubuntu to no longer return SERVFAIL upon that error condition.
- Resolved failures with updating configuration files for Nmap during Discover upgrade.
