Tanium Discover Version 2.0.1

Release Date: January 23, 2017

Resolved Issues

  • Found issue for some customers upgrading from v1.3 to v2.0 would result in a failed install leaving Discover broken.
  • Fixed issue compatibility issue with Internet Explorer 11

Tanium Discover Version 2.0.0

Release Date: January 19, 2017

New Features

  • System Status is now processed during the import process, enhancing the ability to determine whether an asset is managed.
  • Client Deploy is now a separate Tanium Solution. To perform Client Deployments, you must import the solution, which automatically configures WMIC and SSH deployment methods. To configure PSEXEC, see the documentation.
  • Create three scheduled tasks instead of one task. The tasks are for heartbeat, cleanup, and the import process.
  • Questions can now be run to a timeout value instead of percentage complete. Create an Advanced Setting PercentComplete and set the value to 0.
  • Upgrading from previous versions of Discover is supported.
  • The ARP Cache and Asset Connections discovery methods are now supported on Windows Clients that are configured to use Japanese.
  • For easier troubleshooting, request tracking is now in the Discover logs.

Resolved Issues

  • Automatic notify tags do not send notifications on ignored assets.
  • AutoTag rule operators now match column filtering operators for each column.
  • Discovery methods now only update columns for which they have information. For example, this update prevents the ARP discovery method from clearing out ports that Nmap added to the asset.

Other Notes

  • IP Address and Hostname columns are stored in the database as comma-delimited strings. Use this format when you create rules.
  • Installation folders have changed to TMS/services/discover and TMS/services/clientdeploy
