Tanium Deploy 2.19.121

Release Date: 7 March 2023

Resolved Issues

  • Resolved an issue that caused certain software packages deployments to malfunction after a pre-notification was postponed.
  • Resolved an issue that caused charts in Deploy to stop displaying data.

  • This release includes security updates. Details of the issue, including affected versions, and mitigation information, can be obtained within Tanium's Support Portal, or by contacting your TAM.

Known Issues

  • Software package deployments with a reboot and no post-notification will not rerun if the software package operation becomes applicable again. For best results, always include a post-notification on any deployment that includes a reboot.
  • If you add or remove a software package from a software bundle, the updated bundle is not included in existing deployments. As a workaround, create a new deployment that uses the updated bundle.
  • In all versions of Deploy, configuring a Windows software package with a Restricted Operating System that uses a Workstation type (such as Windows 10 & 11 - All Versions) will cause that software package to be Not Applicable on Windows Enterprise for Virtual Desktops operating systems used for Microsoft Azure virtual desktops.

  • Maintenance windows that repeat monthly on a specific day of the week will no longer become active prematurely when the window time crosses a day boundary.
  • Pre-notifications are now displayed for a bundle deployment even if the first software package is not applicable.
  • Resolved a memory leak in Deploy and System User Service.

  • Deploy Package Gallery packages can now be configured to be auto-imported as new versions become available. For more information see, Tanium Deploy User Guide: Import a software package from the Predefined Package Gallery.
  • Package definitions that reference remote source files can now be imported into Tanium Cloud environments.
  • Added support for System User Service.
  • Improved performance of the Deploy service and workbench.
  • Updated the Deploy workbench to use Reporting dashboards.
  • New deployments now immediately scan for package applicability rather than waiting for asynchronous scan results, thus reducing the deployment’s time to start.

Resolved Issues

  • Deploy content can now recover automatically from a failed database migrations during install.
  • Improved Deploy content upgrades. The Deploy process now exits when Deploy content is being upgraded.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the Deploy service to exhaust file descriptors and become unresponsive.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause End-User Self Service installations to time out.
  • Fixed some minor logging errors in the Deploy service.
  • Fixed a visual issue in End-User Self Service that caused long software titles to run outside of the software tiles.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause deployments not to restart the endpoint as expected.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the deploy process to incorrectly log applicable software versions.
