Tanium Deploy 2.1.22.0000

Resolved Issues

  • Fixed an issue where "Run as Active User" commands that previously succeeded in Deploy 1.x may fail in Deploy 2.x.
  • Fixed an issue where EUSS activity may become stuck if its associated deployment is removed.
  • Fixed an issue where downloads on Tanium Client version 7.4.2.2073 may encounter a "NotRequestedDownloading" status and be stuck in that state until the Download Timeout.
  • Fixed an issue where Download Immediately was not respected when pre-deployment notifications were used.
  • Fixed an issue where notifications that initiate a system reboot may not recognize that a reboot has occurred and become stuck in a "Waiting for Reboot" status.
  • Fixed an issue where adding text output redirection using ">>" to a command did not work as expected.

Enhancements

  • Added option to automatically distribute the software catalog when a software package or bundle is updated. This behavior is enabled by default for new module installations. It can be enabled for upgraded modules by selecting Enable Auto-Distribute Catalog in the Configuration Settings tab of the Deploy Settings.
  • Added more robust retry handling for service jobs that do not succeed.
  • Improved reliability of database backup during module upgrade.
  • This release upgrades to Tanium Python version 1.4.0.45 with installer version 1.4.2.
  • Moved the Initialize Endpoints button to the Support tab of the Deploy Help.

Resolved Issues

  • Fixed an issue where software package commands overrode the TEMP and TMP system variables.
  • Fixed issue where remote file upload failed on Tanium Server 7.4.3.
  • Fixed issue where deployment countdown to deadline was not honored when user postponement is disabled.
  • Fixed an issue where base64 encoded icon data was being printed in the endpoint logs.
  • Fixed an issue where successful deployments would end in a Not Applicable status if the post-deployment scan failed.

Tanium Deploy 2.1.9.0000

Enhancements

  • If the software catalog scan encounters an error and exhausts its retry attempts on an endpoint, the scan will be attempted again immediately when the endpoint receives an updated version of the catalog.
  • The Deploy Home page now includes the software packages list.

Resolved Issues

  • Fixed a bug causing improper calculation of maintenance window start and end time evaluation.
  • Fixed a bug where maintenance windows using weekly repeat would fail to import on the endpoint.
  • Fixed a bug where deployments requiring remote folders would fail if Download Immediately was enabled on the deployment.
  • Fixed a bug where Windows software packages referencing an invalid registry hive would prevent applicability scans from producing scan results for all packages in the catalog.

  • The Software Packages Gallery is now displayed on the Home Page.
  • Gallery applicability is now available for imported packages.
  • The 'All Computers' computer group is now presented at the top of computer group dropdowns.
  • Improvements have been made to the default configuration (available in Tanium Core Platform 7.4.2 or later):
    • The 24/7 Maintenance Window created as part of the default configuration is now enforced to 'All Computers'.
    • The configuration section of the Deploy Home Page will be hidden after default configuration is applied.

Resolved Issues

  • Fixed a bug in Filter Results which led to the filters being applied incorrectly.

  • Fixed an issue where deleting a Self-Service Profile might not immediately be reflected in the software visible in the EUSS client.

  • Fixed an issue where deployments might run before their included software packages have determined applicability.
  • Added a validation to prevent removing an install/upgrade/remove action from a software package if that action is referenced by a bundle.
