Release Notes Default Content (Version 8.2)
Thank you for choosing Tanium. This article documents changes between releases of Default Content, which is the solution formerly known as "Initial Content - Base".
Important
Any Scheduled Actions associated with these packages will need to have targeting updated after each update to the Default Content package. The default action group targeting will change to No Computers.

- MAC Address sensor now pads Solaris results

- Chassis Type sensor, Virtual Platform sensor, VMware Guest sensor, and Is Virtual sensors now support BHYVE and oVirt hypervisors
- Domain Name sensor now returns results from linux endpoints
Fixes
- BREAKING CHANGE: Windows Update Agent Version, Windows OS Major Version, Tanuim Client Version, and Tanium File Version sensors now return the Version data type instead of Text
- BREAKING CHANGE: Windows OS Release ID sensor now returns the Text data type instead of Version
- Tanium Client Action Timing sensor now returns combined download time and execution time as intended
- Last Reboot sensor now returns proper data from Macs when the day in the last rebooted date contains a single digit
- Is Virtual sensor now recognizes Linux on Amazon EC2 as virtual
- VMware Guest sensor now returns correct column values for Windows guests
- Windows OS Release ID sensor no longer returns numeric Result Type instead of Text
- Has Tanium Standard Utilities sensor no longer returns false positives
- Operating System sensor now falls back to legacy collection method on Windows Server 2003 (note this operating system is unsupported by current Tanium Clients)
- Action Log sensor can now read logs with unclosed brackets in them
- Typo fixes in Set Tanium Sensor Randomization, Modify Tanium Client Setting, Set Tanium Server Name, Set Tanium Server Name List packages
- Tanium Client Installation Date sensor now works properly on Linux systems
- Improved error handling in PowerShell Version sensor
- Tanium Client Neighborhood sensor better handles clients with no peers
- Resolved a false negative database corruption test in the RPM Database Details sensor
