Thank you for choosing Tanium. This document is intended to document changes between releases of Tanium Console

Tanium Console 2.0.242.0000

General Availability Release Date: October 30, 2020

Major Features

  • This release includes a refreshed user experience, bringing more consistency and configurability to the forefront
  • Action Groups now has its own landing page. It is no longer part of the Scheduled Actions page 
  • API Tokens can now be managed in the console 
  • Refreshed and simplified workflows for the following sections:
    • Actions: Scheduled Actions, Action History, Action Groups
    • Content: Sensors, Packages, Saved Questions, Filter Groups, Quarantined Sensors
    • Management: Users, User Groups, Computer Groups, Client Status, Question History
    • Permissions: Roles, Personas
    • Configurations: Subnets, Bandwidth Throttles, API Tokens

Improvements

  • Export of content (Sensors, Packages, Saved Questions, etc) now uses JSON format. XML can still be imported into Tanium, but the export formats available in Console 2.0.242.0000 are CSV and JSON 
  • All grids have the capability to do Advanced Filtering and to search on all displayed columns 
  • All grids have the capability to do Export of selected items or all items as CSV, and Administrators can additionally export as JSON 
  • The login page has updated styling and the customized logo will be shown there as well as when a user is signed into the Tanium console
  • Alerts and warnings display on the center of the page rather than in the lower right corner. The alerts can also be closed if the user wants to clear them prior to the fadeout
  • Header menu re-organization has placed items into more categorized arrangement 
  • Sensor Statistics no longer show by default on the Sensors page. Statistics are now placed in a column that is hidden by default but can be revealed with a toggle button 

Bug Fixes

  • General UI fixes
  • Accessing a URL route that doesn't exist will now redirect the user to the Tanium home page rather than just show a blank page
  • Improved performance of loading the console
  • Fixed an issue on the Edit Sensor page where line numbers were showing through the console header 
  • Several sorting issues resolved on Packages and Sensors page 
  • Resolved an issue for CAC auth usage when Personas were enabled
  • On session idle timeout, the username field is no longer disabled, allowing the user to login again without a page refresh
  • Improved loading times of content pages and overall loading times 
  • Fixed an issue for loading pages in IE11 and causing the console to go into safemode 
  • Reduced size of files downloaded when opening the console 
  • Fixed an action group selection issue when action approval is enabled
  • Fixed an issue for action group reverting to blank on re-issue of an action

Known Issues and Workarounds

  • The Quarantined Sensors page has an issue where rows will intermittently flash. Refreshing the page will resolve the issue 
  • New users are assigned "unrestricted" computer group access instead of "No Computers"
