Tanium Console 1.4.2.0038

General Availability Release Date: February 25, 2020

Major Features

  • After you install the Tanium Server, the Tanium Solutions page initially displays an Install with Recommended Configurations button, in addition to a tile for each module. To initiate the workflow for importing, and optionally configuring, all your licensed modules in a single operation, you can click that button instead of using the tiles. This feature also allows the import process to automatically advance through each import without having to review all content being imported. In addition, the user has the ability to enable or disable the recommended configurations for each module. For more details, see the Managing Tanium Solutions documentation page.

  • When you first log into the Tanium Console after a fresh installation of the Tanium Server, the server automatically imports Default Computer Groups. They all function as both management groups and filter groups, and are assigned to the Default Filter Groups content set. The default groups are commonly used computer groups. For the full listing of the default groups, see the Managing Computer Groups documentation page on Default Computer Groups.

Improvements

  • General User Interface Improvements
  • Interface improvements to the Tanium Solutions import page layout, headers, messages, and buttons.
  • Allow the multi-import of modules and content to advance automatically rather than requiring a click after each import completes.
  • Content>Sensors page has a specific height for the  Sensor Thresholds  section to avoid misclicks when the page first loads
  • Improved parser display text on the Action Deployment page when creating additional target filters.
  • Solution Import errors are written to the local error log for users to review.  If importing multiple modules or solutions at a time, the errors can be reviewed after the import completes.

Bug Fixes

  • General User Interface improvements
  • Reintroduced the ability to filter by Computer Group on the Action Summary page
  • Sorting by the Valid Key column in System Status is now possible
  • User Preferences language option no longer shows the "Default" or the "Use Browser Language" options. English is the default language, and the other languages can be selected from the drop down.
  • Resolved a navigation routing error when clicking on Sensors or Content Alignment tabs when already on the same page resulted in a blank page.
  • Solution Import: Fixed an issue where a blank page could occur during an import of multiple modules.
  • Resolved an issue where clicking Cancel on the LDAP / AD Sync Configuration resulted in a spinning Tanium logo.
  • On the Common>Sensor Thresholds page, an issue was resolved where the label icon could disappear if the label name changed. Sensor Threshold labels are no longer editable.
  • Resolved an issue on Actions>Deploy Action page where additional targeting did not show results if a parameterized sensor was used.
  • Fixed a preview issue when moving content between Content Sets.
  • When creating or editing a Sensor, a separator can now be added as a parameter.
  • Fixed a heading on the Content>Filter Group page that appeared after cloning a Filter Group.
  • Fixed an issue on the Configuration>Miscellaneous page where the Reset button did not clear a text box.
  • Fixed an issue on content import where the Overwrite option was always in effect, rather than only when set to Overwrite.

Known Issues and Workarounds
