• This version of Client Management includes Endpoint Configuration version 1.5.280
• If using the Tanium Client setting StateProtectedFlag=1, Client Management 1.9.925 or higher must be installed and distributed before upgrading to the Tanium Client 7.4.8.1042 or higher version.

Tanium Client Management 1.9.949

• If using the Tanium Client setting StateProtectedFlag=1, Client Management 1.9.925 or higher must be installed and distributed before upgrading to the Tanium Client 7.4.8.1042 or higher version.

Enhancements

• Upgraded various third-party libraries to newer versions
• The non-Windows client upgrade logs can now be viewed and downloaded via Client Health.
• Client Upgrades on non-Windows endpoints will now use CX APIs to download the Tanium Client installer instead of curl when possible and appropriate.

Bug Fixes

• Resolved an issue that could cause the tsdb-cx databases to grow larger than their configured size.
• Resolved an issue where older client upgrade logs were not properly culled.
• Endpoint Configuration: Resolved an issue with configuration targeting when the target group contains more than 100 entries.

Important Notes

• This version of Client Management includes Endpoint Configuration version 1.5.258
• Because Client Management now support Tanium Client Upgrade, there will be no future releases of the Client Upgrade content that used to be used for this purpose.

Enhancements

• Added ability to manage Tanium Client upgrades across all platform types.
• The TCM deployment APIs are now officially supported and documented in the module.

Improvements

• You can now download the tanium-init.dat file for a client configuration directly without downloading the full installation bundle and then extracting the generated tanium-init.dat.
• It is now possible to use a colon in a Tanium Client custom setting, allowing the configuration of the proxy server configuration value.
• All sensors now have a description.
• The Client Management action group has been changed to "All Computers."
• When Client Management finds an SSHD server on a Windows device, it will now switch to using a Windows deployment.
• TSDB has been upgraded to 1.1.3.
• Endpoint Configuration: Added a description column to the approvals page.

Bug Fixes

• Resolved an issue that could cause deployments to fail if the manifest URL did not return before a timeout.
• Resolved an issue where incorrect values appeared in the UI when editing a previously created configuration.
• Resolved an issue where reinstalling with wipe did not wait long enough for the Tanium Client uninstall to run, resulting in missing registry entries in the newly installed client.
• Resolved an issue where Client Management was delaying a deployment unnecessarily.

Known Issues and Workarounds

• The Action Group for Client Management is set to "All Computers" on only new installs, and remains at the prior value for upgraded installs. To allow upgrading of Solaris and AIX endpoints, change the targeting group for the Client Management Action Group to "All Computers".
