Tanium Asset 1.19.99
Release Date: August 2, 2022
Client Extensions
- swmgr-cx upgraded from 2.3.23 to 2.5.4
Improvements
- Multiple improvements made to how Asset saved questions are loaded initially and on subsequent loads to speed up collecting data.
- When new clients are added to Tanium, Asset speeds up the collection of data on the next scheduled load if the new number of clients is at least ten times larger than the number of existing clients (for example, if you have ten existing clients and add at least 100 new clients). A partial load of the clients is done to gather as much data as possible quickly.
- MAC address now included on Asset Details view.
- Asset database upgraded to RDB.
- Asset now uses the System User Service.
- ARM processor support is added.
- Disk Total Space and Asset Disk Total Space data added for Amazon EC2 and AArch64 endpoints.
- SIU quick link options added to the Asset Overview page.
Issues Addressed
- Fixed an issue where sorting was not working on the Reports area of the Asset Overview page.
- Fixed an exporting issue where report titles that were in non-alphabetic languages (such as Japanese, Korean, Arabic and so on) resulted in garbled text.
- Fixed multiple sorting issues on Overview and Reports pages.
- Updated sensors to reduce RPM corruption.
Upgrade Notes
- With the adoption of System User Service in this release of Asset, the Asset service account is no longer accessible to users. If the service account was used previously to limit the endpoints on which various Asset activities were performed, you must now configure the Asset action group to implement these restrictions. For more information, see “(Optional) Configure Asset action group” in https://docs.tanium.com/asset/asset/configuring.html#configure_asset.
- During the upgrade process, the Asset database is duplicated temporarily as part of the migration to the shared RDB database. Ensure the Tanium Module Server has enough disk space available before upgrading to this version.
Known Issues
In certain situations, the Software Inventory & Usage > All Products table might show negative counts in the Pending Usage and Unused columns. We believe this issue is caused by the timing of when the two questions used to build the report are asked. This issue is still being investigated and will be fixed in a future version of Asset after root cause is confirmed.
