Thank you for choosing Tanium. This article documents changes between releases of Tanium Asset.

Feature Improvements

  • Enhanced asset load process:
    • Ignore results where key sensors (Computer Name, Serial Number, Computer ID) sensor return an error, for example: “[Current Results Unavailable]”.
    • Do not update asset records with values that contain sensor error values.
    • Replace values that start with “N/A” with an empty string.
  • Enhanced the following sensors:
    • Asset Physical Disks sensor now supports Linux and Mac.
    • Asset Total Disk Space sensor now supports Linux.
    • Asset Network Adapters and Asset Logical Disks sensors now work with ServiceNow configuration.
  • Improved ServiceNow export to add log level for ServiceNow destinations with improved logging. Several load enhancements were made to improve overall performance and user experience of the ServiceNow export.

Bug Fixes

  • The Asset Installed Applications sensor now returns only valid applications on Ubuntu.
  • Resolved installation and upgrade issues. A variety of conditions were resulting in necessary manual repairs.
  • Resolved failures with subsequent support bundle collections.
  • Resolved load failures that occurred when the Tanium Module Server and Tanium Server were on different machines with different time zones.
  • Resolved ServiceNow export failures that occurred when a proxy is required.
  • Resolved ServiceNow export failures that caused a timeout when syncing software packages.

Known Issues and Workarounds

  • When upgrading Asset on the Tanium Appliance (TanOS), the Asset DB service will not be correctly removed and will require manual configuration. Contact your TAM for assistance.
  • Asset Disk sensors and the Asset Network Adapter sensor are not yet available for Solaris and AIX.
