Tanium Client 7.4.10.1034
Release Date: March 9, 2023.
Special Notes
- The Tanium Client now supports Oracle Enterprise Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 8 and 9 on ARM processor architecture.
Security Updates
- N/A.
Improvements
- Tanium components now ship with libexpat version 2.5.0.
- The Tanium Client will now only send back String Reports from sensors used for capturing data and not those used for filtering data. This improvement reduces network traffic from the Tanium Client to the Tanium Server or Tanium Zone Server as well as less CPU utilized to encrypt that traffic via TLS.
- The Tanium Client will now log whenever a sensor responds to the Tanium Server with
[current result unavailable]. - Adds a new Tanium environment variable,
TANIUM_OS_ARCHITECTURE, to the Tanium Client that increases sensor performance and compatibility when checking on the architecture of the operating system. - The Tanium platform now evaluates SensorStatistic for sensor execution count limits.
- Improves PKI.db cleanup. When client certificates expire, the PKI database can grow in size. This updated improves cleanup of the database.
- The Tanium Client now captures additional metrics for diagnosing performance metrics. Metrics included are: Total Client Runtime, Sensor Queue Depth, and Total Sensor Runtime.
Bug Fixes
- Resolves an issue where and action may not target an endpoint correctly depending on the order of the filtering sensors.
- Resolves an issue when the Tanium Client returns an error executing Python runscript in a package if sensor output isn't set.
- Fixes a problem in the Tanium Client where it would skip connecting to the second proxy listed in its configuration, effectively never using it.
Known Issues and Workarounds
- N/A.
