Thank you for choosing Tanium. The following Release Notes document changes between releases of the Tanium Client.
This platform release includes new Tanium Client installable binaries macOS 10.11 and higher.

Tanium Client v7.2.314.3608
General Availability Release Date: November 5, 2019.
Additional Information
- This client release includes only the macOS client, for macOS 10.11 and higher, including 10.15.
New Features
- The Tanium Client now does additional verification of its libraries at load time.
Improvements
- The python runtime is no longer distributed with the Tanium Client install binaries, and is instead distributed by Tanium Modules as needed. This significantly reduces the install image size.
Security Updates
- This release includes security updates. Details of the issues, including affected versions and mitigation information, can be obtained within Tanium's Support Portal or by contacting your TAM.
Bug Fixes
- Resolves an issue where packages run with process group protections were not properly killed.
Known Issues and Workarounds
- The Tanium Client for macOS from this version forward will only support macOS 10.11 and higher. Only macOS 10.11 and higher allows for Notarized binaries.
- The previous Tanium Client for macOS, 7.2.314.3518, has been tested to work on macOS 10.15 (Catalina), however, that version of the Tanium Client was not Notarized by Apple. At some point in 2020, Apple has stated that they will start enforcing that all new software installed must be Notarized. When this change occurs, only the 7.2.314.3608 and higher client versions will be supported on macOS 10.15 and higher.
- The Notarization of the client install package has changed the characteristics of the default permissions for network access at its installation time. Please be sure to consult the Tanium Client macOS deployment guide to assure that end users do not receive popup notifications requesting network access. Contact your TAM for assistance in configuration of your policies to prevent these popups.
